SCS were chosen to design and install an upgraded Access Control system at the Bracknell offices of Panasonic UK.
Covering some 40+ doors, installed across three separate buildings, the system makes use of the Panasonic computer network to minimize the requirement for new cable runs. Control units were installed locally to the doors, and then connected to the LAN through local network points. This method of installation enabled the new TDSI system to be installed parallel to the existing system, with the changeover from old to new being carried out over a week-end. All old equipment was subsequently removed, with the areas where the equipment was installed & made good. Panasonic users were then given comprehensive training on the new system, which is now operating smoothly on a day to day basis.
The upgrade of the system went very smoothly, and the flexibility of the system has allowed Panasonic to subsequently expand the system by a further 12 doors. SCS hope that the smooth changeover to the new system will help to initiate a long and amicable relationship between the two organisations.
